๐ฆ 15-minute morning walk with my senior dog, Shadow. He had a fall yesterday for the first time while walking. It surprised both of us. Heโs 15 years old now and itโs breaking my heart.
Morning workout was Classical Stretch Vintage Collection Vol 2 Full Body Workout. Evening workout: Cool it Off with Debbie Sieber.

Aww, I hope Shadow is doing ok. Itโs so hard to watch them get older.
I finished the yoga sadhana and Iโm still going! Iโm trying to work on arm balances and inversions (the newbie yoga kind). I tried Rodney Yeeโs Intermediate dvd last night and even though I never held any inversion using the wall, Iโm sore today. Iโll most likely go for something tame tonight. Will update when my workout is done. ๐

Karla, I'm so sorry about Shadow. I lost my last dog three years ago, it's never easy. Two of my cats are 17, so I know my time is getting close with them.
I'm doing Jessica Smith's Summer Session, Week Three. Today was Jessicaโs Total Body Strong which is from you tube. She uses the band and dumbbells, but I skipped the band. I followed it with a 12 Minute Low Impact Cardio, an older you tube workout. I enjoyed that one a lot, lots of different movements to get the heart rate up, but not super intense like a HIIT.
Fatkat, good job finishing the yoga Sadhana.

Fatkat, I'm also going to try to keep doing more yoga. I still have some workouts that I've never done before. I'm thinking next month I will try to mostly do new (to me) workouts. Sherry, I lost my cat, Sable about 3 years ago. She went downhill fast and I probably tried to hold on too long. I still miss her. Sable thought she was a dog. Every morning I would let everyone come into the bedroom and they'd all jump up on the bed and snuggle. Sable would drink out of the dog's bowl instead of her own. She was very sweet and loving. She even would come when called. This morning was Season 6, Classical Stretch Total Body Stretch This afternoon was Tone Every Inch with Ellen Barrett

I tried again for the 3rd time this week to do an outdoor hike with one of my dogs. I give up! No more outdoor hikes!! The Gnats and deer flies were SO brutal. I have never seen it this bad. I had a massive amount of Deet bug spray on and it didnโt even make a dent on them. My poor dog was surrounded by dozens and dozens of them. Outdoor walking might be good for my mental health but not if I am miserable the whole time!!!!
When I got home, I did one of Denise Austinโs Daily workouts: Cancun- Aerobics, Hips, and Thighs. It was perfect! Getting her app was a smart call because I love all the outdoor settings! I rotate between the Daily Workouts and the Fit and Lite ones and throw on some of her DVDs!

Morning: Shadow walk then A.M. & P.M. Stretch with Madeleine Lewis. I only did the evening stretch. Afternoon: 10 Minute Solution Slim & Sculpt Pilates with Suzanne Bowen. I did the whole workout excepting the Total Body Pilates segment. I found this Firm workout called Slim Solutions Yoga Workout and itโs my new favorite! It uses a brick and strap but I add my booster. Itโs a really relaxing routine that is around 25-30 minutes. It has some ab and strengthening mixed in with a lot of relaxing stretches. No balance work but I can get that elsewhere. I love The Firm (old memories) and this workout is typical Firm in that the instruction and cueing are excellent. I also have The Firm Power Yoga but that one kicks my booty!! I need to be in the right mind to tackle that one!! The Slim Solutions has become my go too for when I need a recovery workout or donโt want to workout at all but know I need too. I feel so incredibly relaxed after and sleep great! Just thought I would pass on!!

Hi I want to get in the habit of posting here! My workouts this week have mainly been walking, gentle walking workouts (videos) and back rehab! I somehow injured myself two weeks ago. On the mend though. My Golden is 11, so I understand the aging pets.

LOL Sounds like you live in my (NW Florida) area! I am very limited to where and when I can walk Shadow. We just go around one large block in our neighborhood early in the morning. I avoid woods like the plague.

My workouts the past few days have mostly been Jessica Smith's Summer Session rotation.
8/2 - AM Energizing Flow from Yoga Stretch for Beginners and Beyond. Went with my dd to a large indoor antique type mall with booths, and walked around for two hours. 8/3 - Two hours of walking at Goodwills with my friend. I count it, lol. 8/4 - 31 Minute Total Body Strength workout from Strong and Centered 8/5 - Cleaned house, and did Margaret Martin's 7 Best Exercises for Knee Pain, and her Best Exercise for Upper Body (Push Ups), both on her You Tube channel

Although, it's too hot to walk outside right now. Unless I want to walk around 5 am. Karla, I had a cat once who thought she was a dog. Smartest cat I ever had. We got a second dog, and unfortunately he chased the cats. She decided to find a new home. I found her outside one day with a strange collar around her neck. I thought, I've been dumped by my cat, lol. I put a note under her collar, but never saw her again. I guess they kept her indoors after that. I hope Shadow is doing okay. Donna, welcome to the forum!
