Do you do a warm-up before doing a yoga practice?

I have a few practices that Iβve come across recently that I think I would need a warmup for, specifically No Om Zone, Lower Body segment. Itβs possible that a warmup is provided on the other short practices. This workout was chopped into three but can be done as a whole to get a full body workout.
There are a few short Rodney Yee workouts that I also think could benefit from a warmup, but right off hand I cannot remember the names of the individual workouts. I like to add Yeeβs shorter workouts on to the tail end of another workout (non yoga).
If the yoga routine has plenty of sun salutations OR a if itβs a YIN or gentle yoga routine where you hold for a long time, I do not feel a warmup is needed.

All the yoga practices I've done incorporate a warm-up. The only other preparation I may do beforehand is meditate (although I usually do that after the practice) and set an intention.

I started thinking about warming up longer when I felt something weird happen to my hamstring during a Power Yoga for Happiness shorter session. There wasn't much of a warm-up, and it bothered my hamstring a lot to walk afterwards, so I took it easy the rest of the night.
Tonight, I did a shorter, easier Rodney Yee forward fold practice and took a couple of minutes to loosen up my muscles a bit first. For more intense yoga, I'm thinking maybe 5 minutes should be good.

Karla - I find that many of the shorter practices are more geared to be add-ons after exercise because of the issue you experienced. I love the Modified Warrior workout because it (almost) hits everything. If it had a hip stretch and a lying twist, itβd be perfect, and it ,vhs at a slow enough pace that you feel warm by the end of it.
