Iβm trying to get as much input on this as I can because I believe itβs getting worse for me.
I wear glasses π€ because Iβve been told contacts probably wonβt work for my vision issues (astigmatism and far-sightedness, so I have graduated lenses and not traditional bifocals). My glasses get too slippery when exercising and I remove them prior. I donβt notice a huge issue when doing workouts like Firm or KCM, but when it comes to balance (especially side balancing like half moon), Iβm a complete mess. I notice I am much better at the balance if I try randomly with my glasses on.
Has anyone else noticed the same? Any thoughts or tips? I really donβt want to go tumbling down, so I use a block or modify by holding on to something when not wearing my glasses. Iβm wondering if this is progressive issue that will get worse over time.

Interesting post! Earlier this morning I was wanting to preview Max Strom yoga since I purchased his 2 DVD set at a thrift store on Friday. I came across his short video clip on balance. It doesn't address wearing glasses, but he does talk about the importance of focal points and body awareness. I found it helpful. Hopefully, it will help you. I also wear contacts and glasses. I'm nearsighted. I've done workouts with glasses, but I have to be careful what type of workouts I do -none too sweaty. I have an ancient TV that I use as a monitor so if I am familiar with a workout I try to go all natural -no glasses or contacts. Max Strom - keys on how to balance

I have a Max Storm dvd I havenβt tried yet. It might be the one you have. Of course, itβs in my untried pile. I should break that out.

I wear glasses, astigmatism in one eye the other normal. The glasses came with age as my good eye compensated for the other for most of my life. I donβt have problems with sweat (cool house) or balance. I only go glass-less for the big screen and stretch or yoga. I have come to accept the glasses as potential protection from snapping bands. I fear losing the good eye. It sounds like more investigation might be a good idea on something that feels progressive to you. Iβm thinking there must be a reason.

I found this interesting. I'm farsighted & have an astigmatism in one eye also. I wear Rx glasses to read my weight-sheets when weight-lifting & not usually for cardio unless I'm spinning and using my phone to follow along. I use croakies to keep my glasses from slipping. I also bought a cheap pair of glasses from Zenni to use only while exercising, so the croakies are on all the time. I just keep them in the exercise room & change them out when I'm there.
As for balance, focusing on a particular area helps. As far as glasses, sometimes I wear them, sometimes not when working on specific balance exercises. Balance usually worsens as we age, so doing specific exercises to improve it helps with fall prevention. Just trying to increase the time one is able to stand on one leg helps. As you progress, close your eyes to progress further; then try turning your head while balancing.
