I was recently gifted several workouts by another VF member and ordered more used Firm workouts off eBay, so I'm thinking of doing a new/unused workout rotation in September. I still have some Firm workouts that I haven't done.
Do you have any workout goals for September?

Well, I just flared up an old hip injury the other night when doing a yoga dvd. My goals for this month will be to heal and strengthen this hip (again). Iβm going to back up my yoga workouts as far as length and intensity, but still do them, but Iβd like to add back my barre, beginner Firms, with an eye to building strength up.

I think your idea of taking it easy and building back up is an intelligent approach to exercise. Too many people ignore what their body is telling them and end up making things worse. I had a friend that was having glute/hip pain when jogging, but kept ignoring it. He ended up bedridden and eventually had to walk with a cane. I was flabbergasted when he told me about it. If you have pain, the best thing you can do is acknowledge it and take it easy.

fatkat555 sounds like you are on the right track with management and it is good you can still move and repair. All the best.
For September I was thinking of mixing up my new to me / unused with favourites but still in keeping with my weightβs sessions, cardio and flexibility in each week. I have a week away coming up and that will include mostly walking, maybe some band work and stretching.

I'm doing a walking challenge in Sept. I'm going to walk a minimum of 15 min everyday. Ok, if I get sick I can skip, but it has to be SICK, not just "I have a stuffy nose" And I'm getting back into heavy weight training. Every 6-8 weeks I'll take a week off to do my DVD workouts, then right back to heavy lifting.

Iβve been doing my unused workouts and think the changing of routine is good for my body because I am doing different types of movements. Iβve finally gotten rid of the last of my aches/pains (shoulder, hip, knee) which I believe were caused from doing pretty much the same type of workouts -Margaret Richard & Jessica along with similar weight training & walking. Iβm still trying to get in strength, cardio and flexibility training π

Karla, I really like the idea of mixing things up. I was doing Barlates and Jessica walks and a lot of outside walking and had hip pain, oh the aches at nightβ¦β¦..just too much walking. Iβve left Barlates and Jessica walks for a while and Iβm ok again. Thatβs really good that your aches/pains are gone, I can commiserate.
