I check in both here AND there at VF, and my sense is that the engagement is even less than what it used to be. I was hoping maybe some might cross post here like I do and that the updates to VF would create more engagement.
I even saw that an old VF member requested to completely delete her account. This saddens me greatly. 😞 my sense is that the updates have tended to push engagement to “influencers” with likes and stars and whatnot (this was the site update, not those wonderful people trying to save the site).
I’m glad we have our small island here.

I have noticed less engagement over there as well. Unless of course I just don't know how to use the new site so am missing it.

I saw an age poll someone posted and of course most at VF are over 45. I wonder if just the change itself has been difficult. I know many people struggle if there’s the slightest change in technology. |

Does anyone know why Lannette left? I'm really confused as to why she not only left, but had them cancel her entire account.

I think she felt it was turning into a popularity contest with the likes and stars. I believe that was just a feature that the site added with the next update and really was not meant to cause a problem. Again, I’m just guessing by re-reading through the “stars” thread. I didn’t see any controversial comments though, but understand why she’d feel that way. |

I’m glad we have our small island here. I've been a member of VF for many years and find this forum to be more open and welcoming for some reason. It just seems to have a better energy, if that makes sense. I, too, was sad to see Lannette leave as she was a member for years and a frequent poster whose comments and insights I enjoyed and related too. I'm hoping she'll join us here (if she hasn't already).  That being said, I agree, fatkat, I enjoy our small island here and the small(er) community.  |
