I recently switched to doing Firm workouts in the morning and short stretching videos in the evening. I am surprised at the difference in the amount of energy that I have now. I like the abdominal work a lot. Margaret Richard's ab work seemed like it was building my ab muscles outward. I was also having hip pain on my right side and shoulder οΌright side tooοΌissues which might have been caused by all of the push-ups and leg lifts.
TheFirm has a more balanced approach. I'm glad I switched programs. Next month I will probably do a mix of workouts so I don't get burnt out on the Firm. Variety is not only good for the body, but the mind too.
How do you feel about your workouts? Are you getting the results that you want?

You mean my almost non-existent workout program cause I've been in a MAJOR funk and can't seem to get it together cause all I want to do it sit and read? Thrilled. Until I step on the scale and see I've gained back 4lbs I lost
I think I'm going to get back to lifting weights on my own for a bit loosely following a Joyce Vedral book I've got, and do some walking cause walking always makes me feel better.

Try reading mathematic books :-) They're much easier to put down. For me, the hardest part was getting on a routine where it becomes automatic. Evenings worked during the winter; but with all my gardening, I found myself too tired to work out at night. Jessica Smith has some nice Walk & Talk mini-walks on YouTube, and Margaret Richard has videos there too. Working out just for a few minutes has benefits -it adds up.

I dream of doing old Firm workouts, but theyβre definitely beyond my current fitness level. I keep trying though!

I'm post-menopausal and recently gained some weight that would not budge. As I always do when needing to drop some pounds and get my clothes fitting right again, I started by adjusting the fuel source. I'm cutting down the alcohol consumption, drinking more water, and adding more fruits and vegetables to my diet. I'm not going crazy on cutting carbs, but I'm reducing/near-eliminating junk food. (Got to get my husband to stop buying BBQ Fritos - my nemesis - and I love my chocolate ice cream.) That helped me to drop 3 lbs in two weeks. Not much but more drastic than that does not stick.
My workout rotations also have not been working for me these last few months so I'm going back to what I remember was working for me a few years ago. Right now that means Katami 4x4 4 days a week, 2 days a week cardio (HIIT or steady-state), and 1 day mobility or restorative yoga. I'm not going that heavy yet, but I have DOMS so I was missing something. I'll stick with that for the next 4-6 weeks then maybe switch things up. I've also had success alternating Cathe's Strong & Sweaty PHA and Cardio Slam workouts as well as UFC Fit, PeakFit and certain Jillian Michaels and KCM rotations. I think I was all over the place with workouts so it was hard to gauge improvements.
