For the last few years, I didn't diet, but I exercised regularly. I wanted to enjoy life. However, the pounds have piled on, so I'm trying to be more cautious with what I eat. I've told my daughter not to bring any more delicious goodies when she visits, lol. I have to blame someone :-)
I think doing mostly weight training and yoga with some Jessica walks wasn't enough to burn the fat off. I like Cathe, but her cardio is too complex & hard.
I'm revisiting the Firm workouts which have weights and cardio. They're also longer workouts. I switched to mornings so I will get them in. Usually by the evening, I'm too tired to do anything but a short 30-minute workout, if that.
Do you diet and exercise or just exercise? Have you switched up your routine with any success?

Soβ¦. I went almost carnivore (some say ketovore), but I cheat keto occasionally with raw honey. The main thing for me is to avoid seed oils. Iβd say this is my biggest even more than sugar. I avoid additives, colorings, etc. Itβs been a trial and error process, but I lost 27 lbs in first months of menopause. Iβve kept it off, too, and I donβt exercise at near the level I used to. Cravings are minimal, and Iβve had other health benefits like wart-like moles disappearing and less overall joint pain. Everyone has to find their own thing though. This is what has helped me.

I find that when I cut out "white carbs" and bump up my protein intake it's much easier for me to lose weight. Of course right now I've been eating carbs like crazy and my protein intake has been to low so I've gained back 4lbs of the 24 I lost in the last year.

Odd, I just started using sunflower oil. I normally use avocado oil or olive oil. The sunflower oil was inexpensive, so thought I'd give it a try. Are all seed oils to be avoided?

I also love fried potatoes which I eat often. I fry them for soups and stir-fries. We have a little retro-style restaurant that makes the best pizza. I'm just glad we can't afford to eat out more often!

Are all seed oils to be avoided? yes, I try to avoid even sunflower oil. I use butter, olive oil (have to be careful because they cut it with cheap oils for profit), coconut oil, ghee, duck fat, avocado oil. If you start looking, youβll find it in everything.I even found it in some spices, chili powder. I get zapped with the cheap oils occasionally because you canβt avoid them if you dine out. Itβs amazing because all inflammation starts back immediately.
