Iβm curious how many of us still buy dvds and how many prefer streaming.
I really, really tried to like streaming, but nothing frustrates me more than stops, skips, loading delays, and commercials. Iβm firmly in the dvd camp and with workouts going for cheap on eBay, Iβve been able to pick up some that Iβve always wanted to try.
I also like variety and so many streaming services are workout specific, so Iβd spend easily $40 a month on streaming OR I could use that $40 on dvds that I can use over and over again. So, thatβs my argument on the dvd front.
I even have a few VHS left with a VHS player. π
So, what do you prefer? Streaming or dvds and why?

I am. I'm a dvd person. Fortunately my 3 favorite instructors still make dvds- Cathe, KCM and Linda Stejskal (Barlates). I get used dvds from Mary or Thriftbooks.
I also have some VHS tapes.

I do. I live in a rural area, and while now, more internet companies are finally moving in, for years, we had 1, and it sucked. Slow, might have 1-2 days a month it would be down for a couple hours. So streaming was very iffy at times. But DVDs still work even if the internet is down.
I do more streaming now that 3 new internet companies have moved in and the internet we have now is very fast, and we're rarely down. But I still like my DVDs.

Itβs mostly DVDs For me and will stay that way for sometime to come. I have a good collection and many used DVDs which I have picked up cheaply to work through. Iβm also recording some of my VHS and working out to them at the same time. Streaming has been good when I travel but it is messy at times finding what I want.

I'm a mix of DVD (including ALL my VHS converted to DVD), YouTube (both streamed on TV & playing .mp4 on USB from downloads like LiftWithCee as no longer available on YT) Lately I'm about 50:50 DVD:YT, but in general I prefer to pop in a disc and hit play - not stuffing around with finding the particular workout I want.
Paid streaming services? I have far too many workouts in the above formats to even consider paying for a streaming service like Cathe, Les Mills, Beachbody, or anyone else.

*Raises hand*. Yup, Iβm still buying DVDs and donβt really like streaming. In fact, I tried doing YT workouts this week and Iβm already sick of streaming! I also got Jessica Smithβs AAP but am not renewing. I hardly ever use it. I tried Leslieβs streaming but I have all the DVDs so it was not really cost productive! Iβm happy being a Vidiot and using my DVD collection!!!

I'm a vidiot that sometimes does YouTube videos. I do DVDS because my television screen/monitor οΌit's old and not smart lolοΌ is larger than my laptop.

I am in the both category. This surprises me as I didn't think I would be in the streaming category. I have KCM; Cathe; MOSSA; Les Mills; and Peloton. Cathe am not renewing and I should have known better. I just don't reach for her stuff often. Les Mills was a good deal and wanted to try their new program SHAPEs which I am enjoying. KCM just like her stuff and fits in my timeframe. MOSSA wasn't sure but I do like their instructors. Peloton I have had for years now and am getting a bid tired/bored with it but it is nice to be able to get on the treadmill and have someone to follow. I don't do spinning much. Since I use mainly yoga/stretching/pilates/barre I will go down to their lowest level. Still pricey but maybe some day I will cut the cord.

If I did do any streaming subscription, it would be to KCM Raw. I think she has a good price point with tons of options. I have all her dvds, so for now Iβll do those.

I mostly use DVDs, so most of my newer purchases are Cathe, KCM and Jessica Smith. I did recently get some TaiChi dvds too off Amazon. Just within the last 5-6 months I've tried some YouTube instructors who have been recommended. I appreciate that most I've tried only have the annoying, loud commercials at the beginning and I use that time to set up equipment, get my water, etc. It is nice to have fresh instructors! I've been tempted by Cathe's On Demand for the blender option but I'm not ready to commit. We're rural also and have finally been able to get cable internet so streaming is now an option, but I guess I'm "old school" and like the dvd set-up.
For those who are getting rid of their DVDs to stream - what did you do with them? I've culled old VHS tapes and donated them to a local thrift store - surprisingly they accepted them willingly.

I would love to donate my old VHS and there is one thrift store In my area still taking them but sadly most of the tapes have broken down. They pixelate and the sound is dreadful. I did have some success at recording quite a few of them and I am so happy with those. Of the damaged ones, I keep the covers and any notes I made and throw out the tapes. I like reminiscing over the covers like I do with my Collage catalogues.
