I hope as we go through the VF transition that we look forward to what is important. Home exercise has evolved since the VF VBulletin creation. If we want to appeal to new members we may need to adjust our focus.
I hope we can maintain the current reviews because I am a dinosaur and still work out with dvds. I have a large dvd collection and internet issues. So I still use the reviews a lot. And unfortunately there have not been new reviews in quite a while. However, I am a rarity. Most people stream. And if I were just starting home workouts today I would find a way to stream. So going forward it seems to me that having a section for streaming site reviews would be important.

Iβm a dinosaur as well and even though I could stream, I find it unmotivating. For me, the visual of my library helps me decide what to pick. I also hate that everything now is behind a paywall. Thatβs why I do my best to support Cathe and KCM when they come out with new dvds. I rely on workout reviews as well. I need to be better at reviewing my workouts and posting my impressions to build the reviews here.

I mentioned the possibility of reviewing YouTube instructors (general style) rather than single workouts in my reply on the "Thank you, Wendy" thread in GD at VF. I use YouTubers (Chris Dorner, PJ Wren are favourites right now) but prefer DVDs so much more that I download from YT, turn them into 'movies' with titles, chapters, and premixes (!) before burning as a playable DVD. Also because I learned not to assume the workouts will continue to be available (e.g. Lift with Cee, whose workouts I had fortunately downloaded PRIOR to her mass removals).

I think this is the right way to evolve. I have started using YouTubers and enjoy some of the workouts. I am still using reviews of DVDs as TF and other sites are selling used and older new DVDs. It is still home exercise though no matter what medium is used and we all love to talk workouts and instructors.

I created a new board for streaming sites, workouts and instructor reviews as you and Helen requested. I didn't start any threads because I wanted everyone's feedback. Would it be better just to let everyone create their own threads? I'm new to this and want people to enjoy the site.

THANK YOU KARLA!! Just like I always *used to* at VF, I typically hit 'New Participated' so hadn't noticed ... WOW! ALL the new boards & threads for the wide variety of things over at VF - including some that aren't. You're REALLY putting in a big effort for here to feel, ... homey.
